Vikas Nair

Vikas Nair is the Co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Openlayer, a business-to-business platform focused on artificial intelligence model testing, debugging, and monitoring. Before launching the Y Combinator-backed startup in 2021 alongside two other engineers, he worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Apple. During his tenure at Apple, Nair contributed to the development of multimodal artificial intelligence systems for the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset project. He previously gained early technical experience in media and design before graduating from New York University with a bachelor's degree in computer science in 2019. At Openlayer, he currently directs product strategy to provide AI governance and observability tools for a client base ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. His career centers on building infrastructure that ensures the reliability, transparency, and overall performance of enterprise machine learning deployments.
