Vijay Pandurangan is the General Partner at Olima Ventures and an early-stage technology investor based in Virginia, USA. He previously served as an early software engineer and manager at Google from 2002 to 2009, where he built distributed systems, before co-founding Mitro, which was acquired by Twitter. Following the acquisition, he led Twitter's New York engineering office, later becoming an entrepreneur-in-residence at Benchmark Capital and an adjunct professor at Stanford University. Through Olima Ventures, he has invested in more than 90 portfolio companies, including prominent technology and biotechnology startups such as Deel, Wish, Pilot, and BioRender. Additionally, he is the founder of Ephla Bio, a biotechnology firm focused on the development of therapeutics targeting B-cell pathologies. His current focus centers on sector-agnostic early-stage investments and advocating for improved software engineering practices within scientific research.
