Veronique Hördemann is the Managing Partner and CFO of Future Energy Ventures, an early-stage climatetech venture capital firm based in Essen, Germany. She originally co-founded the investment vehicle in 2016 and subsequently managed its strategic spin-out from the multinational energy and utility company E.ON into an independent multi-LP fund in 2023. Under her financial leadership, the firm currently manages €250 million in assets and recently closed a €235 million Article 9 fund backed by institutional investors including KfW Capital. Hördemann oversees a growing portfolio of more than 50 startups, directing capital into asset-light technologies and software companies such as Tado and EV.energy. Her current focus centers on financing digital solutions that accelerate global decarbonization and electrification, building upon her foundational career experience as a commodity trading risk analyst and portfolio manager in the oil and gas sector.
