Umut Eser

Umut Eser is a Venture Partner at Magnetic Ventures and the Co-founder and Chief AI Officer at Weave Bio. He holds a PhD in Engineering Physics from Stanford University and completed postdoctoral research in genetics and computational biology at Harvard University. Prior to his current executive positions, Eser served as the Head of Machine Learning Research at Cellarity, a Flagship Pioneering company, and as the Chief Innovation Officer at Doctor Evidence. His earlier career includes technical leadership roles as the Director of AI at AI Therapeutics and as a Senior Deep Learning Scientist at Quantum-Si. Throughout his career, Eser has specialized in developing AI-driven solutions for complex biomedical challenges, including drug repurposing, protein engineering, and regulatory affairs. He currently focuses on advancing TechBio applications by integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare innovation and drug discovery.
