Tyson Trautmann

Tyson Trautmann is a Founding Partner at Blacktop Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Los Angeles, California. He co-founded the two-partner investment firm alongside Ben Brasher in October 2016 to provide financial backing to emerging technology startups across a diverse range of industries. His primary investment focus spans multiple sectors, specifically targeting artificial intelligence, clean technology, cloud infrastructure, consumer products, enterprise software, gaming, healthcare, and logistics. Prior to transitioning into the venture capital industry, Trautmann worked as a software engineer, holding technical engineering roles at major technology corporations including Amazon, Microsoft, and Riot Games. He completed his higher education with studies at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, the University of Washington, and Biola University. Trautmann currently leverages his foundational software engineering background to evaluate technical founders and support early-stage ventures.
