Tyson McDowell

Tyson McDowell is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Greatscale Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Diego, California. Prior to launching the firm in 2017, he spent nearly 20 years operating technology companies, holding executive positions such as Chief Technology Officer at Fulcrum Workforce Solutions, Chief Technology Officer at PlusMusic, and President at Avadyne Health. Through Greatscale Ventures, McDowell has funded three companies to date, focusing on artificial intelligence integration across the wellness, learning, personal finance, and professional gig economy sectors. Outside of his primary investment activities, the former TEDx speaker serves as the Vice Chairman of the San Diego Air & Space Museum and is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization. McDowell currently focuses on advising emerging startups on AI deployment and accelerating early-stage technology companies to the broader market.
