Tyler Menezes

Tyler Menezes is the founder of CodeDay and a producer for the popular tech talk series Ignite Seattle, based in Seattle, Washington. Through the non-profit organization CodeDay, he orchestrates large-scale educational events designed to introduce youth to computer programming across more than 50 cities worldwide, successfully reaching thousands of student participants annually. Prior to his current work in the education sector, he founded and served as the chief executive officer of a venture-funded, Y Combinator-backed live-video streaming startup that operated in the era before platforms like Periscope emerged. His earlier technical background includes a research tenure at Microsoft Research, where he focused extensively on machine learning and applied statistics while publishing peer-reviewed academic papers. Menezes currently centers his professional efforts on scaling global edtech initiatives and fostering local technology communities through accessible coding education programs.
