Tyler Dean

Tyler Dean is a Principal at Meritech Capital Partners based in San Francisco, California, where he invests in growth-stage enterprise software and financial technology companies. He joined the firm in March 2024 and recently led a Q1 2025 investment in the artificial intelligence coding platform Augment Code. Previously, Dean served as a Vice President at Bessemer Venture Partners focusing on seed and Series A rounds. Before entering venture capital, he held operational roles in product management at Amplitude, which completed its initial public offering in 2021, and worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. He has backed technology startups representing over $10 billion in combined enterprise value and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University.
