Travis Scher

Travis Scher is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of North Island Ventures, an early-stage cryptocurrency venture capital firm based in New York. He established the firm in 2020 alongside James Hutchins and Silver Lake co-founder Glenn Hutchins, growing its assets under management to approximately $300 million. The firm recently closed its $125 million second fund to back 30 to 40 startups, building on a portfolio of 53 investments that includes Dapper Labs and Axelar. Previously, Scher directed investments at Digital Currency Group from 2015 to 2019, where he deployed capital into more than 100 blockchain companies globally. He began his professional career as an M&A attorney at Skadden Arps after earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. His current focus remains on identifying foundational Web3 technologies, decentralized finance protocols, and blockchain interoperability solutions.
