Toon Coppens is the Managing Partner at Volta Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, based in Leuven, Flanders, Belgium. Before transitioning to venture capital, he co-founded and successfully exited multiple technology companies, including Cleem and iLost, after earning a Master of Science in Electronics Engineering from KU Leuven. Since joining Volta Ventures as a General Partner in 2023, Coppens has managed a portfolio of more than 20 companies, focusing on pre-seed to Series A investments across the European market. His investment track record features notable transactions such as the 2021 acquisition of SendCloud by Glovo, and he recently led a Q1 2025 funding round for the climate technology startup CarbonBite. Coppens currently focuses on scaling B2B software, hardware, and deep tech enterprises, leveraging his engineering background to support founders in the sustainability and climate sectors.
