Tony Day

Tony Day is a Venture Partner at Genoa Ventures, the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Hawkwood Biotech Partners, and the Chief Technology Officer at Bond Pets. With over 25 years of experience bridging business and science, he specializes in scaling early-stage industrial biotechnology and food technology enterprises through strategic research and development leadership. Day previously served as the sixth employee at Solazyme, joining in 2006 as Head of Research and Development before becoming Vice President of Commercialization to lead seminal partnership deals. As a PhD-holding biotechnologist, he holds inventor status on more than 40 patents and recently supported Genoa Ventures in closing its $84 million Fund II in July 2022. His current focus centers on the convergence of biology and technology, specifically advancing research tools, diagnostics, and agricultural innovations while navigating novel foods regulation and sustainability initiatives.
