Tony Chen

Tony Chen is a Managing Director at Sandbox Industries and the Blue Venture Fund, operating out of the firm's headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. In his current capacity, he focuses on healthcare venture capital investments and serves on the board of directors for several growing portfolio companies, including Octave Bioscience and Ideal Option. Prior to joining Sandbox Industries in 2014, Chen worked as an investment banking analyst at BMO Capital Markets, where he executed mergers, acquisitions, and equity offerings for middle-market healthcare organizations. He initially transitioned into the financial sector after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Science in Human Culture from Northwestern University. Chen currently leverages his extensive background in healthcare finance and strategic advisory to identify, fund, and scale innovative care delivery and digital health startups across the United States.
