Tomohiro Hirayama

Tomohiro Hirayama is an Operating Partner in the Portfolio Group and a member of the Asia Pacific Private Equity team at Bain Capital, based in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to his current investment role, he served as a Partner at McKinsey & Company in Tokyo, where he directed corporate transformation initiatives, retail operations, and mid-term strategy development. During his tenure at the consulting firm, he also spearheaded the regional launch of the analytics division QuantumBlack, following his earlier career as a marketing planner and account executive at Dentsu. He holds a Master of Business Administration with Dean's Honors and Distinction from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Tokyo. Hirayama currently focuses on identifying and scaling portfolio companies across the Asia Pacific region through data-driven management, customer engagement strategies, and targeted operational improvements.
