Tom York

Tom York is the Managing Director at Trolley Venture Partners and a Partner at Newport LLC, based in Richmond, Virginia. Before his current venture capital roles, he accumulated over 30 years of executive experience, serving as Vice President at Capital One, Vice President of Credit Operations and Collections at PayPal, and holding multiple leadership positions at IBM Global Services. A graduate of the Naval Academy with an MBA from Duke University, York has also served as the CEO of two private equity-backed IT services companies and founded H5 Solutions. He sits on the board of Source Support Services following its 2020 acquisition by Capitala Group and has mentored more than 50 local startups through Startup Virginia. His current focus centers on seed and early-stage capital formation for high-growth technology companies within the Virginia startup ecosystem.
