Tom Humphrey

Tom Humphrey is currently a Partner at Blackbird Ventures, an Australasian venture capital firm, and is based in Sydney, Australia. Prior to transitioning into venture capital, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Kanopy, an educational video streaming platform. During his tenure, he helped scale the company to serve millions of users across over 3,000 university campuses before its eventual acquisition by the private equity firm KKR. Earlier in his professional career, Humphrey gained foundational finance experience working as an investment banking analyst and associate at UBS. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, alongside dual degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of New South Wales. His current focus centers on providing capital and strategic guidance to early-stage software and technology founders navigating rapid international expansion.
