Tom Dare

Tom Dare is a Managing Director at Science based in London, United Kingdom, where he leads early-stage investments in the deep tech sector. Since joining the venture capital firm in 2022, he has backed more than 50 companies and recently helped raise a $200 million deep tech fund in 2024. Previously, Dare served as a Partner at Entrepreneur First, investing in over 100 founders across 20 countries and supporting notable portfolio companies such as the unicorn Tractable. Earlier in his professional career, he worked in the biotechnology space at Oxford Nanopore Technologies and earned a PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge. Having recently spoken on artificial intelligence hardware at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2023 conference, his current focus centers on scaling breakthrough science and technology startups across biotechnology, climate tech, and robotics.
