Tom Biegala

Tom Biegala is a Founding Partner at Bison Ventures and an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability program at Northwestern University. He began his professional career as a manufacturing engineer at Intel before developing solar photovoltaic technology at two university spin-outs. Transitioning to venture capital at Altira Group, he later managed the personal venture investments of Bill Gates at Cascade Asset Management. Biegala holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for Prime Coalition. With nearly 20 years of professional experience, his current investment focus centers on early-stage frontier technology companies operating across material science, robotics, biotechnology, and climate sustainability.
