Tom Balderston

Tom Balderston is the Managing Principal at SustainVC, an early-stage impact venture capital firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With over 35 years of experience in the venture capital industry, he has built and managed diverse investment portfolios operating as a general partner, limited partner, and active angel investor. Previously, he served as a General Partner at TDH Group from 1985 to 1998, where he managed the TDH III venture fund, and worked as the President of SGI Capital, the private equity unit of Superior Group. The University of Notre Dame graduate also advises institutional investors and funds through Balderston Capital, and he has held leadership board positions with the Social Venture Circle. Balderston currently focuses his primary investment strategy on funding early-stage companies that deliver measurable social and environmental impact alongside market-rate financial returns.
