Tod Francis

Tod Francis is a Managing Director and co-founder at Shasta Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California. Before establishing the firm in 2004, he served as a General Partner at Trinity Ventures and worked as a Marketing Manager at Johnson & Johnson. He completed his education at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a master's degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Throughout his venture capital career, Francis has directed early-stage investments across the consumer technology, enterprise software, and cybersecurity sectors, backing prominent startups such as Canva. He currently oversees Shasta Ventures' existing portfolio companies and prior funds rather than leading new investments for the firm. His focus remains on leveraging his decades of consumer brand management expertise to advise entrepreneurs developing technology-driven consumer experiences.
