Tobias Knaup

Tobias Knaup is an entrepreneur, engineer, and startup advisor based in San Francisco who founded D2iQ, formerly Mesosphere, in April 2013. At D2iQ, he pioneered an independent cloud native Kubernetes platform designed to reduce the total cost of ownership for enterprise clients. Previously, he served as a Tech Lead at Airbnb, where he designed the microservice architecture, custom search engine, and fraud detection systems to support millions of users across 192 countries. Before his tenure at Airbnb, Knaup worked as the Lead Software Architect at Pingsta and began his entrepreneurial career by starting a web consulting company at age fifteen. He earned a Master of Science equivalent and a Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology from Technische Universität München, contributing machine learning and natural language processing research to the IEEE Intelligent Systems Journal.
