Tobias Herber is an Austria-based software engineer and the founder of Metorial, an artificial intelligence infrastructure platform backed by Y Combinator. Participating in the YC F25 batch, his current venture focuses on simplifying complex integrations for AI developers and agents using the Model Context Protocol, having accumulated over 3,700 stars on GitHub. Previously, Herber led technical development at Valicit, an Abu Dhabi-based blockchain ticketing platform that bootstrapped to profitability and processed more than two million ticket sales for over 3,000 active users. He holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in computer science from Johannes Kepler University Linz, where his graduate research on bytecode visualization earned him an IEEE Best Paper Award in 2025. His technical background primarily centers on building scalable distributed systems, system software, and foundational infrastructure for modern agentic AI applications.
