Tobias Egle

Tobias Egle is a venture capital investor and materials science expert based in Boston who most recently served as an Investment Associate at M Ventures until 2025. During his three-year tenure at the firm, he focused on deep tech investments across the semiconductor, photonics, and clean technology sectors while acting as a board observer for portfolio companies including Polaris Electro-Optics, Quintessent, and NovoLinc. Prior to his venture capital career, Egle earned a master's degree in 2019 and a PhD in 2022 in materials science from Harvard University, where he conducted research in the Friend Lab. He also gained early investment experience conducting due diligence and deal sourcing as a Fellow at Yard Ventures, a fund backed by Harvard alumni. Additionally, his background includes exploring a sustainable lithium sourcing startup for electric vehicle battery supply chains.
