TJ Mahony

TJ Mahony is the Founder and Partner at Vinyl Capital, a $40 million seed fund based in Boston, Massachusetts. Before launching his current firm, he co-founded two technology startups, including the vacation rental platform FlipKey, which was acquired by TripAdvisor in 2012, and the web analytics company Compete.com, which was purchased by WPP. Mahony transitioned into venture capital as a Partner at Accomplice VC from 2017 to 2021, where he managed the Boston Syndicate angel program and built a portfolio of early-stage consumer technology investments. His earlier career includes positions at Highland Capital Partners and Accenture, alongside earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College. Today, he leverages his entrepreneurial background to lead Vinyl Capital in writing initial checks ranging from $250,000 to $3.0 million for seed-stage companies shaping the future of consumer commerce.
