Timothy Heidel is the CEO and Co-Founder of VEIR, a clean energy technology company developing high-temperature superconductor-based transmission lines to increase grid capacity. Before assuming the chief executive role in 2023, he served as a Principal at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, where he contributed to a climate technology investment portfolio encompassing over 110 companies and exceeding $2 billion in raised capital. His earlier career includes public and non-profit sector leadership as a Program Director at ARPA-E and as the Deputy Chief Scientist at NRECA. Heidel also worked as the Research Director for the MIT Future of the Electric Grid Study and holds a graduate degree in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
