Timothy Haines

Timothy Haines is the Managing Partner at Abingworth LLP, where he oversees life sciences investments and assumes board leadership roles across the firm's global portfolio. Prior to this position, he spent over five years as the Chief Executive Officer of Astex Therapeutics, establishing the firm as a prominent United Kingdom biotechnology enterprise. His executive career spans more than 30 years in the international medical technology sector, including tenures as Chief Executive Officer of two divisions at Datascope Corp and General Manager of Baxter UK. Haines holds a Bachelor of Science from Exeter University and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, and he has served on the boards of Scorpion Therapeutics, PowderMed, and Venatorx Pharmaceuticals. His current focus remains on guiding clinical-stage biotechnology and medical technology companies through strategic growth, operational scaling, and corporate development.
