Tim Woodward

Tim Woodward is a Managing Director at Prelude Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm managing nearly $2 billion in capital, based in San Francisco, California. He brings over 30 years of investment experience across the energy, industrial, and environmental technology sectors. Prior to joining Prelude Ventures in 2013, Woodward spent 15 years as a Managing Director at Nth Power and eight years managing investments at Liberty Environmental Partners. Throughout his career, he has led successful investments in companies such as Evergreen Solar, Comverge, and Proton Energy Systems, while also providing oversight for investments in QuantumScape and Aquion. He currently serves as a board director for several portfolio companies, including MineSense, Allotrope, and Energy Savvy. His current focus remains on partnering with early-stage entrepreneurs to commercialize innovative technologies that reduce environmental impact across resource-intensive industries.
