Tim Schumacher

Tim Schumacher is the Managing Partner at Schuma Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm and family office based in Berlin, Germany. Prior to his current investment role, he served as the Founder and CEO of the peer-to-peer lending platform iwoca, which raised over $500 million in funding and serves more than 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. Schumacher also co-founded the unicorn insurtech company Clark and held leadership positions at the banking-as-a-service provider Solarisbank, following an early career at Commerzbank. Through his family office, he has invested in over 20 startups, recently leading a 2024 expansion investment in the cloud banking platform Mambu. Holding an MBA from the University of Economics, Vienna, his current focus centers on seed and Series A investments bridging technology with traditional finance and insurance sectors.
