Tim Hoag

Tim Hoag is a General Partner at Artisanal Ventures, where he leads investments and functional advisory programs for category-defining software and fintech companies. He brings over a decade of experience to his current position, having previously served as a Partner at TCV starting in 2021, where he backed prominent businesses like Toast. At Artisanal Ventures, his growing portfolio includes promising technology startups such as Abnormal AI, AcuityMD, Cyera, Fireworks AI, and Resolve AI. Before entering venture capital, Hoag worked as Chief of Staff at Gainsight, overseeing finance, partnerships, and OKRs, and began his career in the technology investment banking group at J.P. Morgan. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and studied finance and accounting at Boston College, while also completing multiple half Ironmans and marathons, including an impressive 3:03 finish in New York.
