Tim Barat

Tim Barat is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ember, an early-stage climate technology startup based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Before establishing the company in 2023, he worked extensively in utility infrastructure as a journeyman lineman and electrician, gaining direct field experience with power systems associated with major regional operators like Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). At Ember, Barat currently leads the engineering and deployment of artificial intelligence-driven wildfire detection networks designed to mitigate severe environmental risks across the State of California. He successfully transitioned from hands-on blue-collar trades to scalable systems engineering, subsequently participating in select climate technology accelerators throughout 2024 to advance his proprietary hardware and software solutions. His current professional focus remains on bridging practical utility fieldwork with advanced machine learning to build resilient infrastructure and prevent catastrophic wildfire events.
