Thies Sander

Thies Sander is a Founding Partner at Project A Ventures currently based in Berlin, Germany. Since co-founding the operational venture capital firm in 2012, he has helped scale the organization to manage €1.2 billion in total assets under management. The firm recently raised its largest investment vehicle to date, a €325 million Fund V, to back early-stage technology startups across the European market. Sander oversees capital deployment across a broad portfolio of more than 130 companies, which includes prominent venture-backed businesses such as Trade Republic, Sennder, Voi, and Quantum Systems. Before establishing the Berlin-based venture firm, he gained direct operational experience working with the Swedish digital healthcare provider Kry. Today, his current investment focus centers on pre-seed and seed-stage opportunities within the financial technology, artificial intelligence, defense, and supply chain software sectors.
