Thierry Laugel

Thierry Laugel is a Managing Partner at Kurma Partners and the President of Argobio, currently based in Paris, France. He began his professional career in 1992 as an R&D Project Manager at Laboratoires Fournier in Tokyo before transitioning to drug development at Flamel Technologies in 1996. Laugel shifted to venture capital in 1998 with Caisse des Dépôts and later served as the Life Sciences Manager at AGF Private Equity, a division of the Allianz Group. Since co-founding Kurma Partners in 2009, he has managed vehicles like Kurma Biofunds, directing capital allocations ranging from €10,000 in pre-formation stages up to €15 million for growth rounds. Leveraging more than 25 years of industry experience alongside a doctorate in pharmacology, his current focus centers on financing early-stage European biotechnology, digital health, and novel therapeutic companies.
