Theodore Koenig

Theodore L Koenig is the Chicago-based Chairman and CEO of Monroe Capital LLC and the publicly traded Monroe Capital Corporation. He founded the private credit asset management firm in 2004, leveraging over 30 years of experience structuring complex transactions for asset-based lenders, financial institutions, and private equity investors. Previously, Koenig served as President and CEO of Hilco Capital LP, worked as a Partner at Holleb and Coff, and was an Associate at Winston and Strawn. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with high honors from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a Juris Doctor with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law. His current focus centers on providing direct lending, venture debt, and alternative credit solutions to businesses across the United States and Canada, earning him the 2023 ACG Midwest Division Lifetime Achievement Award.
