Terry Gilton

Terry Gilton is currently a Partner at Celesta Capital, where he leverages his semiconductor industry experience to support portfolio companies with complex technical challenges. He brings 37 years of research and development expertise spanning materials, memory, processing devices, sensors, and algorithms. Gilton began his career in February 1990 at Micron Technology, eventually rising to Vice President of R&D for CMOS imager technology that was integrated into the Motorola Razr and the first iPhone. He later served as Senior Director of Sensor Technology at Apple, leading a team responsible for developing sensing modalities across multiple product lines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, with a specific focus on physical and surface chemistry. His career focus remains on advancing semiconductor technologies and scaling complex hardware innovations from initial research to high-volume production.
