Ted Tomlinson

Ted Tomlinson is the Senior Director of Engineering for Workspace at Databricks. Since joining the company in 2019, he has led the development of collaborative notebooks and machine learning services, helping scale the engineering organization tenfold to support thousands of enterprise customers. Previously, he co-founded the Y Combinator-backed sales intelligence startup StackLead, which was successfully acquired by LinkedIn in 2014. Following the acquisition, Tomlinson spent five years at LinkedIn as a Senior Software Engineering Manager, overseeing a team of over 60 engineers building natural language processing systems and recruiting analytics. His earlier career includes software engineering roles at Google and Index Inc., alongside earning his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science and economics from MIT. His current focus centers on scaling engineering teams and developing collaborative platforms for data science and machine learning practitioners.
