Tarek Waked

Tarek Waked is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Type One Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the United States that he established in 2019. Raised in a Lebanese family in Latin America, he previously worked as a licensed financial advisor at Morgan Stanley after studying International Affairs and Economics at Florida State University. Before transitioning to venture capital, Waked founded a startup incubator in Latin America to mentor entrepreneurs and foster regional technology business development. Through Type One Ventures, he targets satellite and space commercialization opportunities, currently serving as a board member for in-space manufacturing startup Space Forge and gravity-enabled space station developer Gravitics. His current investment focus centers on deep technology, space exploration, and longevity initiatives designed to support founders building transformative technologies that advance humanity toward a Type One civilization.
