Tara Tan

Tara Tan is a Partner at M13 based in Los Angeles, California, where she leads early-stage investments in consumer artificial intelligence and software startups. Before joining the venture capital firm in June 2023, she worked as a product designer at Meta from 2018 to 2020 and served as a design lead at Snap Inc. between 2016 and 2018. Tan earned a Master's degree in Design and Technology from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2020 and was recognized in the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Venture Capital. At M13, she leverages her user experience background to advise founders and recently led an investment in the AI fitness startup Forme in March 2025. Her current professional focus remains centered on identifying and supporting design-led consumer technology companies that integrate emerging artificial intelligence capabilities.
