Tanishq Kancharla

Tanishq Kancharla is the Co-founder and Product Engineer at Saffron Health, an early-stage technology company. Founded in 2025 and backed by Y Combinator as part of its Spring 2025 accelerator batch, the two-person startup develops artificial intelligence agents designed to automate specialist referrals, prior authorizations, and patient bookings for primary care providers. Prior to launching his own venture, Kancharla served as a Product Engineer at Shortwave, an email productivity startup. During his tenure there, he led the technical development of the company's iOS and desktop applications, which scaled to support tens of thousands of active users. He completed his undergraduate education at Carnegie Mellon University, where he double majored in physics and computer science. Kancharla's professional background combines software development with a current focus on deploying machine learning to solve complex administrative bottlenecks in healthcare coordination.
