Takaaki Tobaru

Takaaki Tobaru is a Partner at Remiges Ventures based in Washington, United States, where he leads Series A investments and company creation initiatives from Japanese academic assets. He brings over 20 years of experience in therapeutics venture investment, having previously spent more than 13 years at Daiichi-Sankyo establishing and managing the pharmaceutical firm's corporate venture capital funds. Prior to his current position, Tobaru served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Ora, focusing on licensing, joint ventures, and new corporate formation. He currently serves as a board member at Phost’in Therapeutics and holds an MBA from the University of California, San Diego, alongside degrees from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Tobaru focuses on cross-border biotechnology investments, bridging the United States and Japanese markets to advance therapeutic discoveries from early clinical stages to commercialization.
