Sy Kaufman

Sy Kaufman is an investor and co-founder at Crosslink Capital, a venture capital firm with nearly $5 billion in assets under management. He established his career in venture capital after joining RS & Co. in 1983, where he served on the management committee and collaborated with industry figures like Sandy Robertson. In 1989, Kaufman co-managed the firm's inaugural venture fund, raising an initial $22 million and co-leading eight distinct early-stage investments throughout the decade. He was instrumental in acquiring the RS & Co. venture funds to establish Crosslink Capital in 1999, building a network that included prominent investors such as Dick Kramlich of New Enterprise Associates and Pierre Lamond of Sequoia Capital. Today, Kaufman's extensive background centers on institutional venture capital management and early-stage technology investments, with a historical emphasis on the semiconductor sector.
