Sven Strohband

Sven Strohband is a Partner and Chief Technology Officer at Khosla Ventures, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He leads technical diligence across the firm's IT and sustainability portfolios, directing investments into prominent companies including GitLab, Rocket Lab, and Berkshire Grey. Previously, he spent six years at Mohr Davidow Ventures as an associate and later Chief Technology Officer, evaluating infrastructure and sustainability practices. Earlier in his career, Strohband served as a project manager at Volkswagen's Electronics Research Lab, overseeing initiatives spanning driver assistance systems and robotics. He also operated as the lead engineer for Stanford's autonomous vehicle team, which won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge and established the foundation for Google's self-driving car project. His current focus remains centered on identifying breakthrough engineering advancements within autonomous systems, infrastructure, operational efficiency, and deep technology.
