Suranga Chandratillake

Suranga Chandratillake is a General Partner at Balderton Capital based in London, England, where he focuses on early-stage venture investments. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the co-founder and CEO of Autonomy Corporation, an enterprise software company that was acquired by HP for $11.7 billion in 2011. He also co-founded tech startups Sense Networks and EQ Works after earning a Master of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge. At Balderton, Chandratillake manages a portfolio of over 50 companies and has backed prominent technology firms including Darktrace, which completed its IPO in 2021, and CMR Surgical. He recently oversaw the firm's investment in an AI infrastructure startup and supported the 2024 acquisition of portfolio unicorn Graphcore by SoftBank. His current investment strategy targets early-stage technology startups specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise software.
