Suraj Patel

Suraj Patel is the VP of Ventures and Corporate Development at MongoDB, where he leads the company's corporate venture arm from the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to this role, he spent six years as a Principal at Bow Capital, specializing in enterprise software investments and holding board positions at startups including Rev, Loris, Heartex, and ArangoDB. Having joined MongoDB Ventures approximately six months after its launch, Patel now directs Series A and Series B investments across data technology, artificial intelligence, and cloud infrastructure. Under his leadership, the fund has backed developer tools and low-code platforms, building a portfolio that features Apollo GraphQL, 8base, and data intelligence software provider BigID, which reached a valuation exceeding $1 billion in 2021. Patel currently focuses on expanding product ecosystems within technology companies by funding early-stage enterprise software and AI infrastructure startups.
