Steven Krein

Steven Krein is the CEO, Co-founder, and Managing Partner of StartUp Health, a global health innovation platform based in New York City. Since launching the firm in 2011, he has built an extensive venture portfolio comprising more than 400 digital health and biotech companies operating across 27 countries. Before his current venture, Krein co-founded and led several technology companies, including Webstakes, which he took public on the Nasdaq in 1999 before its acquisition by iVillage in 2002. His earlier entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding OrganizedWisdom and helping launch Law.com in 1994, following his graduation with a BA from the University of Maryland and a JD from Delaware Law School. Today, his primary professional focus remains on scaling health moonshots and investing long-term capital in founders dedicated to solving major global healthcare challenges.
