Steve Lonhart is a marine photographer and researcher who specializes in ocean ecosystems, kelp forests, and fisheries. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a Full International Baccalaureate Diploma from Scotts Valley High School. Lonhart frequently contributes scientific imagery and ecological expertise to federal conservation efforts, including habitat restoration projects managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). His photographic work has supported initiatives within the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, while his research contributions include co-authoring the manuscript for the Kelpwatch mapping tool.
