Steve Fredrick is a General Partner at Grotech Ventures, where he focuses on early-stage enterprise software and services investments. Before joining the firm in 2005, he served as a General Partner at Novak Biddle Venture Partners and co-founded the software development firm MartinScott. He began his professional career in research and development at IBM and later joined Vantage Solutions, which was successfully acquired in 1994. Throughout his venture capital career, Fredrick has backed numerous technology startups, leading to notable exits such as XtremeSpectrum's acquisition by Motorola and Optinel Systems' acquisition by C-COR. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and received the 2012 Outstanding Service Award from the National Venture Capital Association.
