Steve Brown

Steve Brown is the Managing Partner at Brown Venture Partners in San Francisco, California, where he invests in seed and Series A rounds across North America. Before founding his current firm, he served as a Principal at Andreessen Horowitz and held investment roles at Bessemer Venture Partners following his early career as a technology operator. He currently manages a portfolio of more than 25 companies, which includes two notable enterprise software startups acquired by Salesforce in 2022 and 2024. In early 2026, Brown led a $12 million Series A funding round for the artificial intelligence startup Nexlify and joined Y Combinator as an advisor for its winter batch. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University, and his current investment strategy primarily focuses on backing early-stage SaaS, artificial intelligence, and fintech enterprises.
