Steve Anderson

Steve Anderson is the Founder and Managing Director of Baseline Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Since establishing the solo-partner firm in 2006, he has backed over 80 technology startups, most notably serving as the first seed investor in Instagram before its $1 billion acquisition by Facebook. His investment portfolio includes prominent consumer and enterprise companies such as Stitch Fix, SoFi, and Heroku, contributing to multiple successful public market offerings and acquisitions. Prior to founding Baseline, Anderson held product roles at Microsoft and eBay, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Physics from the University of Washington alongside an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. His current professional focus remains on providing foundational seed capital and strategic operational guidance to early-stage technology founders across various sectors.
