Stephen Walter

Stephen Walter is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sunset, a financial technology platform based in San Francisco, California. Under his leadership, the company streamlines banking and financial services for freelancers and small businesses, growing to serve over 50,000 active users and securing a $15 million Series A funding round in 2024. He recently expanded the platform's operational capabilities by launching new enterprise payroll features in March 2026. Prior to founding Sunset, Walter served as Head of Product at Brex, where he contributed to the corporate card provider scaling to a $12 billion valuation, and held earlier product management positions at Square and Pinterest. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. Walter currently focuses on product development, application design, and growth strategies within the consumer banking and B2B payments sectors.
