Stephen Thomas

Stephen Thomas is a Partner and Managing Director at Bain Capital Private Equity in New York, where he co-leads the North American Industrial vertical. Since joining the investment firm in 2007, he has directed capital allocations across the industrial technology, chemicals, building materials, automotive, and distribution sectors. He currently holds board director positions at several portfolio companies, including TI Fluid Systems Plc, American Trailer Works, and US LBM Holdings. Additionally, his past corporate governance experience includes serving on the boards of Diversey and Trinseo. Before transitioning to private equity, he worked as a Manager at Bain & Company and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School alongside his undergraduate economics degree from Princeton University. His current focus remains on structuring private equity investments and overseeing strategic operations within the North American heavy industry and manufacturing markets.
