Stephen Lopes

Stephen Lopes is an Investor at iNovia Capital based in Montreal, Quebec, where he focuses on seed and Series A investments across North America and Europe. Prior to joining the firm in 2023, he spent five years as an Investor at Real Ventures and previously worked as a software engineer at Ubisoft. At iNovia, which manages over $2 billion in assets under management, Lopes has been involved in more than 20 transactions, including leading a 2024 investment in the artificial intelligence startup Waabi. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure and frequently engages with the local startup ecosystem, recently speaking at a Techstars Montreal accelerator event in early 2025. His current investment focus centers on backing early-stage technology companies operating within enterprise software, artificial intelligence, financial technology, and developer tools.
